Ingots for Forging

A full range of ingots, from 125 to 8,500kg, is produced in specialist alloys and marketed under the name of Goodwin Alloy Products Ltd.

AOD refining procedures and techniques developed over the last 30 years enable materials to be produced to tightly controlled specifications. This AOD facility was the first in Europe to be licensed by the patent holders, Union Carbide.

Composition is controlled by two direct reading spectrometers and two LECO analysers. One of the largest data banks of nickel alloy spectrograph calibration standards in Europe is available for calibration.

The facility is operated under ISO9001 and 14001 accreditation, it is the longest operating AOD in Europe with experience in the manufacture and refining of a more diverse range of alloys than any other.
