Carbon Steel Castings

Carbon steels are those with no deliberate alloy additions. As a group the carbon steels are the most frequently used for general engineering, constructional use and pressure applications such as valves.

Low temperature properties are improved by the addition of 1.0 to 1.5% manganese and these steels are often impact tested at minus 46°C.
