Super Nickel Alloy 625 Steam Gland

This steam gland is manufactured in a NiCrMoNb alloy 625, the forgings and piping are fabricated onto the casting by TIG and MMA welding followed by radiography of the welds.

Due to the chemical composition and thermal characteristics of this super nickel alloy careful control is needed during the welding stages.

Nickel alloy 625 control valve

Goodwin specialise in super nickel alloys which are manufactured by the AOD refining process - this produces a cleaner metal with superior casting and corrosion resistance properties.

The photo shows a 20" 900 valve in super nickel alloy 625, 3,650kg in weight and 70 inch [1,75m] flange to flange.

Fully machined fluid heads

The photographs shows  a fluid heads (for sub-sea pumps) being prepared for CMM dimensional inspection after finish machining and pressure testing.

5 of these fluid heads were produced in super nickel alloy 625. The finished weight of each casting was 525kg.
