Nuclear components

Components that are with Goodwin's scope of supply included the Primary Circuit Branch castings for PWR Nuclear Power Stations. These are made in Z3CN20-09M stainless steel and weigh around 5,000kg.

Sellafield reprocessing Plant

For BNFL Sellafield Goodwin manufactured 132 off fully machined 304L stainless steel radiation shielding viewing window frames.

7 different types were produced with individual weights of 280 to 490kg. Total cast weight of contract was over 44,000kg.

8,500kg Steam Control Valve

Double butterfly valves for the Main Steam Pipes on the 1356MW ABWR (Advanced Boiling Water Reactor) Kashiwazaki-Kariwa Nuclear Power Station located in Niigata prefecture, Japan.

The material is a micro-alloyed steel with 0.5% Cu. The 8,500kg valves were supplied in the fully machined condition.
