Stainless steel water jackets

Water jackets for a continuous casting steel mill.

Produced in a controlled ferrite, low-magnetic permeability stainless steel; 16 of these water jackets were produced for the POSCO steel plant in Korea.

Fabricated in-house from stainless steel castings and wrought plate, with built in water cooling paths. Induction magnets mounted in the water jacket are designed to enhance the integrity of con-cast plate.

High permeability steel

A 21-ton high gradient magnetic separator.

Goodwin supplies finish machined and painted castings in a high magnetic permeability steel for this magnetic separator.

Super Nickel Alloy 625 Steam Gland

This steam gland is manufactured in a NiCrMoNb alloy 625, the forgings and piping are fabricated onto the casting by TIG and MMA welding followed by radiography of the welds.

Due to the chemical composition and thermal characteristics of this super nickel alloy careful control is needed during the welding stages.

Goodwin manufactured flare

The photo shows Goodwin flares in operation in the BP Forties oil exploration field.

These Flare systems were manufactured using Goodwin castings, radiographed to ASTM level 1 quality standards. The machining and fabrication welding of castings to rolled plate, sheet and piping all carried out at Goodwin machine shop.

Sizes produced: 33 to 70 inches diameter in 316 (controlled ferrite) stainless steel, 32Ni 20CrNb alloys and super nickel alloys including 625.
