96" Butterfly Valve Body

A Carbon steel butterfly valve body for the seawater intake system on Sizewell B nuclear power station. Goodwin can cast and machine butterfly valve bodies in carbon and stainless steels up to 105" diameter and 10,000kg in weight.

Jiangyin Bridge - cable band inspection

A 12-bolt, 1,800mm cable band assembly undergoing dimensional inspection prior to packing. All cable band castings were inspected ultrasonic and magnetic particle non-destructive testing prior to machining.

Corrosion protection of cable bands is vital to the long-term life of a suspension bridge. Metal spraying with zinc is followed by further protection from sea water corrosion with a multicoat two-pack epoxy resin paint system.

Stratford Station support bases

The building's curved roof springs from the upper-level walkway, parallel with the main railway lines, and sweeps up to a high glazed wall.

Each of these curved roof arches is supported by a base casting manufactured by Goodwin.

Radiography of thick-wall valve body

The photo shows a 7,000kg carbon steel valve body castings undergoing 100% radiography on the 8.5MeV linear accelerator.

Goodwin's manufacturing facility is supported by comprehensive in-house NDT facilities able to fully inspect heavy and large section castings and fabrications.
