Renewable

At present over 2% of electricity produced in the UK comes from a renewable source. By the year 2010 the Government's target is to exceed 10%. Various predictions suggest we should be  achieving 50% by the year 2050.

To increase the efficiency of conventional fossil fuel power stations Goodwin is heavily involved in research projects and commercial production of high temperature alloys (Nickel alloys in the European Thermie AD700-2  and COMTES 700 project and 9.5CrMoWNbN steels).

Goodwin also manufactures castings which are used in the generation of energy from renewable sources such as wave power.
